The P.Log. Designation: FAQ's
Why should I pursue the P.Log. designation?
The P.Log. is an independent confirmation of your professional ability in the field of supply chain and logistics management. It will allow you to make a greater impact and influence in your company's decision making process and planning while increasing your personal value to your organization and to the market place.
What is the status of the existing P.Log. community?
Since 1995, the Logistics Institute has certified 2,500 P.Logs. They serve as managers, directors and vice presidents of North America's largest Fortune 500 companies.
Can I enroll in only selected modules?
Yes. The Logistics Institute modules can be taken individually to reflect your interests or enhance your communications and management skills, or in their entirety leading to the full P.Log. designation.
How and where do I take the modules?
Once the module has begun, you:
- Have four weeks to complete the module - at your own pace.
- Can take the modules in any order.
- Have a facilitator guiding the class through three evening chat sessions from 7-9 pm EST.
- Work independently for the first week with a CD-ROM for the Team Dynamics module
How long should it take me to complete all the designation modules?
While it is possible to complete the program in less than 12 months, the Logistics Institute recommends developing a personal 12 to 18-month training plan.
Do I need to be a Logistics Institute member to take the designation modules?
No. Our program is available to the general public, no membership requirement. As an independent candidate, we advise that you purchase an Associate Membership. For a one-time $99.00 fee, you will enjoy a 10% discount on modules-a saving of more than $550.00 over the course of the P.Log. program.
Is there a discount for multiple enrollments?
Yes. The Corporate Membership-in addition to other benefits-allows all employees of a company to enjoy a 20% discount off all P.Log. modules for the duration of the membership.
I am a logistics and supply chain executive. Is there a program matching my experience?
Yes. The Executive P.Log. Designation Program is specifically designed for senior logistics practitioners with a minimum of eight years of strategic level logistics experience.
