Who We Are
The Logistics Institute is a non-profit organization that certifies individuals working in logistics with the Professional Logistician (P.Log.) Designation. We are the industry's leading source of logistics training and certification. Our training programs help logisticians increase their earning potential, develop their leadership skills, and improve the productivity of their supply chain operations.
The mandate of the Logistics Institute is to:
- Provide certification, training, professional association and review through the P.Log. designation
- Build leaders who transform organizations and create a strategic vision to respond to change
- Foster a dynamic professional forum for logisticians, by logisticians
- Gather information, offers and opportunities from other organizations and associations
- Continue to build upon the current knowledge base of the Logistics practitioner and advance the profession
Certification Programs
The Logistics Institute offers supply chain logistics professionals multiple pathways to earn their P.Log. They are:
Executive P.Log. Certification Program. Exclusively designed for the senior logistics and supply chain professional, the Executive Certification Program is an intensive six-day program leading to P.Log. certification. This in-residence setting allows for interactive, facilitated sessions that focus on issues and challenges that affect on your company's strategic decision-making process. These topics include strategic leadership, change issues, global supply chain management, professional ethics, and human resource utilization.
Process Management P.Log. Certification Program. This pathway was the first and original program created for logistics professionals who are currently working in managerial careers and those who are aspiring to a director's position in logistics. The certification route for this program consists of seven modules that offer a comprehensive program for developing the key skills you need to manage the increasing challenges in logistics. The modules you need to take to earn your P.Log. through this pathway include Logistics Process Diagnostics, Integrated Logistics Networks, Team Dynamics, Leading and Managing Change, Supply Chain Strategies, Ethics, and the National Qualifier.
ONLINE Option - Process Management P.Log. Certification Program. This pathway can be taken interchangeably with the Process Management P.Log. Certification Program (above) to accomplish the same learning objectives. Strengthen management skills with a double stream approach to supply chain competencies [supply chain strategy and integrated logistics process] and leadership capabilities [implementing change and fostering team process].
Lean/Lean Healthcare P.Log. Certification Program. Build specialized management capabilities through the application of lean principles and process tools to supply chain logistics and healthcare logistics operations. is for logisticians currently in supervisory and managerial careers with a specific interest in the application of "lean process tools" to supply chain logistics. This pathway to the P.Log. will outline and demonstrate the essential lean tools and practices that can be applied to your business in order to achieve significant savings for your company. The modules you need to take to earn your certification are Lean SCM, Professional Ethics, Leading & Managing Change, Supply Chain Strategies, Team Dynamics and the National Qualifier.
Essentials P.Log. Certification Program. This program is designed for operations staff who require baseline training in supply chain operations with an emphasis on building basic knowledge and skills set in logistics and supply chain. Create a foundation for a career in logistics and supply chain management through this newly developed P.Log. Pathway.
Frontline P.Log. Certification Program. was designed for logisticians currently working in tactical and supervisory careers, as well as for those aspiring to future managerial positions. This program provides the baseline training that is required to perform in your current role, as well as creating a foundation for a career in logistics and supply chain management. Certification requirements include the successful completion of core online modules in Frontline Logistics, Logistics Process Diagnostics, Team Dynamics, Leading and Managing Change, Supply Chain Strategies, Professional Ethics and the National Qualifier.
